Outfit of the Day - Navy & Teal

Everyone has certain color pairings that they are drawn to; black and white, red and navy, mint and blush or gray and yellow. One of my new favorites is navy and teal. I'm pretty sure this love affair started when I purchased a navy and teal striped jersey for a DIY sewing project a while back and I've been hooked ever since.

You can find the two colors often in colorblock and stripes and also as separates paired together. Both the deep rich blue and bright blue-ish green can be found in nature in sapphires and jade so it's no surprise that both colors are complemented with gold. These two colors can be worn exclusively or the jewel tones can be accented with neutrals such as white, cream, camel or cognac. Dare to be bold add some coral, mustard or a lime green to the mix!

Today I decided to wear head to toe navy and teal. The navy top is an old tank from Banana Republic, the colorblock pencil skirt is a DIY and the shoes are Jessica Simpson Josette in navy patent leather from last season. I also threw on this striped dark wash denim striped rain coat from Target (several seasons ago) as it was drizzling this morning.

Here are three outfit ideas you may want to try:

1. A navy, teal and white striped dress fit and flare dress paired with a navy single button blazer and gold accents.

2. Teal and Navy separates paired together with nude accents.

3.Teal top paired with dark wash jeans and coral accents.

What are your favorite color combinations? Are you classic black and white or a more trendy mint and blush? Would you wear one of these three looks?
