I originally created this journal for myself as a way to catalog the patterns I'd previously sewn and aid my future sewing projects. I find it helpful to have my notes from the previous make when I am recreating my favorite garments. I always forget what size I cut last time or what mistakes I was supposed to learn from. This journal reminds me if the pattern instructions were confusing, whether I could squeeze it into less yardage and more. After sharing on social media I had requests from other sewists for either digital or physical copies. So I am now offering both! I hope you love it as much as I do!
The printed sewing journal features a clear cover, 81 pages and black vinyl back. For easy note taking the journal is coil bound. Four main sections make up the journal, they include:
- To Sew - plan out your future projects (4 pages)
- Pattern Stash - never forget the patterns you want and own (1 page space for 105 patterns)
- Pattern Notes - record your patterns made, fabric used, project cost, construction notes, lessons learned and even add a swatch (70 pages)
Additional pages offer a place to record your measurements, the measurements of 6 friends, family members or clients and general notes.
The digital journal includes the complete .pdf file of the 81 page journal for you to print at your convenience. This can be printed at home and bound in a three ring binder or printed at your favorite printer (Office Depot, FedEx, Staples, etc).
This file is to be used for personal use only. I ask that you not share this file or print and give it to others. Thank you!
